As a young man raised in the church, I prided myself on my faith. However, through experiences and a yearning for deeper understanding, I realized a crucial difference between being religious and being spiritual. Life's tests and encounters exposed this difference, highlighting the vast depth hidden behind familiar verses. We can easily become accustomed to the words of God, forgetting the multitude of interpretations and deeper meanings they hold.
Looking back, I wish I had focused more on cultivating my spirituality, on finding God and knowing him for myself. Remember that popular verse, "You are the light of the world, a city set on a hill"? I realized I wasn't living up to my own potential. This reflection extends to society at large. If Christians truly embodied the light not just within church walls, but in the world where we are sent as "sheep among wolves," the world would be a better place.
The truth is, we're often bombarded with messages urging us to chase external validation and success. We chase the perfect job, the impressive title, the material possessions we believe will bring us happiness. But what if there's a more fulfilling path, a pursuit beyond the "suit" we wear in life?
Recently, I came across the concept of the mantle. It represents our unique purpose, gifts, and the impact we are meant to make on the world. It's about living a life of meaning and fulfillment, not just chasing external validation. This resonated deeply with me.
What unique contribution can you make to the world? What ignites your passion and brings you a sense of fulfillment beyond personal gain? I found my expression through JOFFoundation, and I'm incredibly grateful for my friends' support in making this vision a reality.
Chasing the mantle encourages us to embrace our authentic selves and express our unique gifts. Focusing on it fosters a deeper connection with ourselves, others, and the universe. We find purpose and belonging by contributing to something bigger than ourselves.
Our true worth lies not in what we achieve, but in who we become in the process. This means embracing self-reflection, learning from mistakes, and constantly striving to become a better version of yourself. True success lies not in surpassing others, but in living aligned with your values, treating others with respect, and contributing positively to the world around you.
Therefore, shift your focus from what you lack to appreciating the blessings and opportunities present in your life. Find ways to use your talents and resources to make a positive impact. Don't compare yourself to others; each person has their own path and purpose. Through meditation, prayer, or spending time in nature, cultivate a deeper understanding of who you are and what truly matters to you.
Remember, chasing the mantle is a journey, not a destination. It requires continuous growth, self-discovery, and living with intention. The mantle offers a deeper sense of purpose, fulfillment, and connection to something greater than yourself.
The Mantle is your service to humanity – in influence and in creating. Find it.

The greatest gift is knowing that chasing the mantle is a journey and not a one time thing or destination 👌🏽
